The CeramicSpeed Dual Socket Tool BSA/ITA is a high-precision manufactured tool from Danish bearing specialists and allows a scratch-free and gentle installation of bottom brackets. The front has a diameter of 44 mm and has 16 cams with which BSA, ITA, BB30, T47X68 for Shimano, SRAM GXP and Campagnolo UT bearing shells can be mounted. The second side has a diameter of 46.5 mm and 12 cams. This is suitable for mounting BSA, ITA, T47X68 for 30 mm, SRAM DUB and BB30 SRAM DUB bottom brackets. The socket convinces with a magnetically held center guide, which optimally guides the tool in the bearing and prevents slipping.
BSA bottom bracket
The most common and most widespread thread size is called BSA. This is 1.37 x 24 inches (= 34.8 mm outer diameter, 24 threads per inch). The right bearing shell is equipped with a left-hand thread, the left bearing shell with a right-hand thread.
ITA bottom bracket
ITA is the abbreviation for Italian bottom bracket. Here the peculiarity is that the threaded shells both have a right-hand thread.
Furthermore, the bottom bracket differs in the dimensions. An ITA bottom bracket is designed for a housing width of 70 mm.
The housing width is the immediate frame width. The bottom brackets are not compatible with each other.
